GOT ROOTS?
One of the most common causes of sewer back-ups is root intrusion. What we
consider wastewater, plants see as a source of food, minerals and water. While
roots are not believed to actually penetrate a sound pipeline, they do exploit
existing material weaknesses, cracks, open joints and connections to the point
of pipe failure. Soft blockages are also attracted to these imperfections in the
pipe and will collect together and eventually cause sewer back-ups as well.
“Rotoring” these sewer lines can actually promote growth in some cases since it
is basically pruning the roots. We provide a long-term solution to prevent these
unexpected and inconvenient sewer back-ups by replacing the section of
compromised pipe either by open-cut or trenchless replacement techniques.
Remember, it is not normal to need your sewer lines rotored several times a
year. This is just a short-term solution and doesn’t address
the problem.
